When the Bryants came to us for help designing and remodeling their Laguna Beach master bathroom, they envisioned taking their eclectic styled bathroom and giving it a more modern, spa feel. They also wanted to make sure that despite being a modern bathroom, they wanted the space to feel warm.
We started by removing the green mosaic tile from the bathroom and replacing it with larger, solid brown colored tiles from DalTile. This helped the tub stay the focal point of the space without feeling overwhelming. The solid color also brings a relaxing feel to the bathroom and the warmth that our clients were looking for. That same tile and color was also used for the backsplash behind the sinks and into the walk-in shower.
This project was full of unique fixtures. We kept the existing frosted glass wall behind the soaking tub that acts as a privacy wall for the walk-in shower and separate toilet stall. The shower itself, features dual shower-heads and a very unique trough drain that runs along the side of the shower pan.
The vanity and sink were recreated with clean, white, surface mounted sinks atop of a quartz caesarstone counter top. The flush cabinet doors were finished with modern styled brushed nickel hardware.
Our biggest design challenge was incorporating an existing concrete floor that the owners wanted to keep. This meant that we had to be very careful to choose products, textures, and colors that would compliment the current floor. The ultimate goal was to make the project look seamless and as if we had started completely from scratch.
We truly enjoyed working on this project and hope that the Bryants enjoy the results as much as we do!
