One Week Bath has and will continue to incorporate Sustainable Business Practices throughout our growing organization. What does Sustainable Business mean to us? It is the recognition of the significant role that responsible business can play in reusing limited resources, be they labor, material or capital. The integration of this thinking with our mission and values provides the framework for our employees to take ownership of their functional area as well as provide educational tools to increase their economic opportunities by building valuable skills.

Our first step in building a Sustainable Business is educating our customers about the amount of water utilized in the bathroom and the building requirements for low flow toilets and showers. Water conservation information is provided to our customers via web links on our website.

Our business includes removing all components of a customer’s bathroom. Historically, this material was removed and sent as trash to a local landfill. We have recently engaged the services of Looney Bins (www.looneybins.com), a local waste hauling company, “dedicated to recycling and reuse of construction debris”. We have expectations of reusing many of the bathroom components, toilet, sink, lights and faucet that can be removed from the bath without damage or significant expenditures of additional labor.

Our business model is dependent on our crews traveling to our customer’s homes with all the material and tools required to complete the bathroom renovation within one week. In order to accomplish this feat, we must deliver all the material and have available, at the jobsite, all the tools required to complete the job. We have trucks that are outfitted with the tools and incidental materials. The efficient utilization of our trucks and people can significantly increase or eliminate our corporate profitability. To further increase our efficiency and monitor the performance of our trucks we are installing Vehicle Tracking Systems. These GPS based reporting system will “monitor critical vehicle performance statistics” and will provide real time analysis of vehicle emission and fuel efficiency. Field Technologies (www.fieldtechnologies.com) is our partner in building another proactive business solution. We are also utilizing the new Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle (PZEV) Ford Focus to reduce emissions and increase our fuel efficiency. To meet the growing demand of a “Green” bathroom we are in discussions with different suppliers that will result in a high quality bathroom design based on materials that are constructed of either recycled or environmental building materials. We expect our vendors to adhere to Sustainable Business Practices and report on Corporate Responsibility.

We believe the short-run, marginally increased cost of integrating Sustainable Business Practices will quickly become irrelevant and potentially provide valuable competitive advantage to our company.
