One Week Bath client Julie Dewing sums up her bathroom remodeling experience with one word: respect. According to Julie, “One Week Bath is themed around respect - this was the biggest key to the success of our project. From start to finish, everyone respected our needs, our house and our lives. The crews cleaned up every night, they were always on time and we loved seeing the same faces every day. I was so impressed with how they went out of their way to protect our stuff. It’s not easy having work done in your house with strangers coming in and out all the time. One Week Bath makes all that easier - we’ve not experienced that with any other company!”

Julie Dewing was walking her Whippet-Chihuahua dog Maxine when she first spotted the One Week Bath truck in her neighborhood. She and her husband Shane, nine-year-old son Julian and Maxine were living in their very first home: a circa 1948 house that was everything they dreamed of, with the exception of the bathrooms. In the quiet suburb of Sherman Oaks, their house had an unusually checkered past - it was rumored to have been a crack house! It had been beautifully cleaned and re-built by the last owners, who had purchased it as an investment. Small improvements had been made so that it would sell quickly. According to Julie, the bathrooms were “very plain, white plastic and linoleum, with things laid out in a very backwards way.”
Both Julian’s and the guest bathroom needed to be done, and Julie loved the idea of getting them done quickly – with a husband, a young son and a dog, she had no interest in having her life disrupted for any length of time. She called OWB, spoke to CEO and Founder Matt Plaskoff, and was immediately impressed. Their first phone call was two hours long. For Julie, “It was clear that our business was very important to Matt, and that was really special to us. I also didn’t want to shop around at a million places - that is not my personality, so I was so happy to find a company that did EVERYTHING!”
Designing with Matt and the OWB team was “Love at first sight! We didn’t want anything fancy, just ‘artful.’ I am creative, but I definitely needed help picking everything out. Matt and the team had such great ideas and great suggestions, and I always felt like they had our best interest in mind. There was a wonderful product selection, and all the ideas presented to us were perfect. Everyone made us comfortable every step of the way, resolving any concern we ever had. Our experience was wonderful from start to finish. Every time I walk into the guest bath it gets better looking, and Julian’s bathroom is just joyful and fun. They both came out far better than we ever expected. I don’t like to leave my house because of my bathrooms - I chase people out who try to use my vessel sink!”
One Week Bath CEO Matt Plaskoff thoroughly enjoyed the process as well, “I was so pleased to see that our featured bath this month was the Dewing Family. Working with Julie and Shane Dewing was such a pleasure. I think the one thing that stands out for me is that the project was unique in design - a glass vessel, black cabinet and very modern tile selection really spoke to Julie. She was a very creative client and knew the ‘look’ she was after. It was a lot of fun to assist her in synthesizing those ideas into two beautiful bathrooms that fit within a budget that made sense for both her and Shane. I know the team enjoyed working on site each day, as Julie’s excitement over seeing the project take shape was infectious. It’s especially rewarding when a client chooses to work with your company a second time and tells the world to do the same. Thank you to Julie for the opportunity (twice) and your continued referrals!”
