Energy Saving Tips

Here's how to reduce your electric bill during the summer months:

• Don't leave on lights in an unused room.
• Try to use natural lighting whenever possible.
• Set your thermostat to 78°F when you are home and off when you are away.
• Operate your pool filter and sweeper before noon or after 7 p.m. Also, reduce the time they operate.
• When you do laundry, try to use the warm- or cold-water setting.
• For the rinse cycle, use cold water.
• Run full loads if you use the clothes dryer.
• Be sure to clean the lint trap after each use.
• Dry your clothes on a line rather than using the dryer.
• Only use the dishwasher when it is fully loaded.
• Turn off the dry cycle and air-dry dishes.
• Use major appliances before noon or after 7 p.m. to help prevent power outtages.
